Long Hai overview

Long Hai is a beach resort just up the coast from busy Vung Tau in the Vietnamese south. It is well within reach of the southern centre of Ho Chi Minh City and is a lot quieter than it noisier neighbour. Its white sand beach, upmarket Anoasis Beach Resort (former holiday home of emperor Bao Dai), and drier climate make it especially appealing. There are also cheaper resorts and places to stay in the nearby Minh Dam Mountains, while getting in is best done by bus from Ho Chi Minh City, about two hours. Despite Long Hai’s appeal to the more discerning sunbather, it does tend to become somewhat overrun with weekend hordes of locals and Chinese tourists, so visiting in the week could be an idea.
